After several years of working in graphic design and advertising, Chuma started focusing his efforts on comics and illustration, combining painting with graphic design. In 1989 he held his first exhibition in France at the Centre du Lavoir (LesHerbiers) and in 1993 he was invited to the Homenaje als Artistes del Mon in Sitges. Since then he has participated in several exhibitions throughout Spain and has won various painting competitions.
Through the years his artistic techniques have gone through various stages, themes and forms of expression. From his early classic use of Chinese ink in his comics he began to move towards a more modern pop-art style blurring and saturating his colors with the use of acrylics and canvas for his figurative and urban cityscapes.
Filippo ioco Studio & Gallery is pleased to showcase Chuma’s urban and cityscapes.
